Where on earth is Églanterre?

Écueillé 36240 finds itself in the Departement Indre, which is pretty much in the belly (centre of) of France. On the edge of the village lies Églanterre, a 5000m2 speck of earth. To pinpoint it precisely, click here. What is the address you might ask? And that is where I start to mumble, because Google Maps shows a different address to what it really is. For the sake of completion, the address is:

4 Rue du Château de Paille (on WAZE and Google Maps it says La Fosse aux Loups)

Should you get there and still can't find it, look for Limoine Pivron. Keep right of the building. No more than 50 metres up the road, on the left hand side, you'll see a gate and behind the gate a corrugated barn and close to it, our beloved old oak tree towering to high. Can't go wrong in this way. Oh, and look for the sign... Églanterre!

Aeroplane, bus, train or car?

Let's be frank. It is easiest and probably quickest if you come by car whether you are based in Europe or the UK.

Getting to Écueillé by bus or train is not possible, but you can get to nearby cities and towns by train or bus, from where we can pick you up. Please be in touch if you have any problems concerning transport. If we know where you are coming from, we can point you in the right direction for booking your ticket.

If you are wanting to nose around so long, the towns and cities that are nearby are Saint-Aignan-Noyers, Tours, Châteauroux...

Ps. Look at this as one of the charms ... not exactly middle of nowhere, but close :)

Accomodation

Participants organise their own accommodation. By the click of a button, I'll email you a list of charming B&B's & gîtes.

Otherwise, not for the faint-hearted, camping is possible on the land with room for 3–4 small tents, but please note: this is a very basic set-up or rather...basically no set-up. Luxury camping IT IS NOT. You have to bring your own tent, there is no running water, and campers will need to feel comfortable being fairly self-sufficient and close to nature. If you want to add 'ultimate' to what already promosis to be an adventure, you are very welcome!

Meals

After previous gatherings, I realised that the cooking and cleaning alongside hosting and guiding the workshop left me completely exhausted, so I have thought about it carefully, and decided to keep things simple.

Meals are self-organised, giving you the freedom to choose where you would like to prepare and enjoy your meals.

Evenings together are just the absolute best, with more than just eating together...! So please, you are invited to join us in the evenings too. You'll have access to fire and a gas stove and all utensils needed for simple cooking if you choose to do meals with us. It’ll be a great help if you could wash and dry your own dishes afterwards.

No need to bring your own water. We’ll supply water suitable for drinking and cooking (there is no running water on the property).

There is a small but well-stocked Intermarché in Écueillé, where you'll be able to find loads to prevent you from going hungry!

PS. This doesn't mean you'll go completely dry... there will be tea, coffee and snacks all day long.
